Michelle's Spring Health Reboot

Our long time staffer and Naturopath Michelle, is making the most of the Spring to give her health a bit of a reboot. Over the next 8 weeks Michelle will share her journey, insights, suggestions and challenges with the Go Vita Ballarat community to potentially support, motivate or encourage others who are also interested in rebooting their health this Spring. We asked Michelle to give herself a "wellness rating" out of 10. Factoring in her eating habits, exercise, quality of sleep, stress and mindfulness, Michelle rated herself at a 4. Michelle hopes that by adding in some regular physical activity, a few diet changes, some supporting supplements and some mindfulness exercises, that her self "wellness rating" will increase over the coming weeks. This is how Michelle is feeling at the start of her Spring Health Reboot: "As many of us know, a lot of factors in life - parenting, work, study etc - can make it difficult to focus on our own health and wellbeing.

We seem to have a natural inclination to prioritise the needs of other people over our own health.

Being a mother of three (aged 12, 13 and 15), it has recently occurred to me that my own health and wellbeing is just as important as any of my family members and, more importantly, that I should be making my health a priority and setting a good example for my kids.

I want to set a good example for my kids.

Over the 8 weeks, I hope to show you ways in which I have made considerable changes to my lifestyle to achieve a healthy balance of supporting my family but also supporting myself.

There will be a few aspects to this- changes to my eating habits (including a few yummy recipes thrown in!), products that I find beneficial, exercise and of course, the ever important mindfulness. From next week, I will be sharing with you the specifics of the changes I am making to reach my goals!

I hope that by sharing this I can inspire those who want to be inspired, and hopefully provide some tips on ways in which your own goals, and ensuing journey can be achieved.

By increasing my physical activity I am hoping to do more fun runs and other events with the family.
